Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented QA Engineer to join our software development and quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring application quality through comprehensive testing, backend validation, accurate documentation, and defect reporting using industry-standard tools such as Azure DevOps.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze and test end-to-end application flows across all functional modules.
Design and execute manual test cases for sanity, regression, and release testing cycles.
Perform backend validations using SQL queries to ensure data integrity and compliance with business rules and database constraints.
Utilize Azure DevOps for test case creation, execution tracking, and complete defect lifecycle management.
Ensure all QA defects are reported with full mandatory details including reproducible steps, system logs, screenshots, environment specifications, and proper severity/priority tagging.
Coordinate and prioritize build deployments, validating readiness and impact before release.
Document release notes, test coverage reports, build validation status, and known issues for stakeholder review.
Support debugging efforts by analyzing logs, API responses, and database entries in coordination with developers.
Validate complex input field logic (e.g., username field validation) including length checks, character restrictions, and duplicate detection.
Documentation & Reporting Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain detailed test documentation including test plans, test cases, traceability matrices, and execution results.
Generate testing summary reports, defect metrics, and release validation status reports for QA leadership and project stakeholders.
Contribute to continuous improvement by documenting lessons learned and updating QA processes accordingly.
Maintain version control of test documentation in accordance with project timelines and release schedules.
Technical Requirements:
Strong understanding of manual testing methodologies, including scenario creation, edge case handling, and risk-based testing.
Proficient in Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar tools for test and defect management.
Ability to write and execute SQL queries for validating backend data and system rules.
Solid experience with debugging practices, reviewing logs, and working with API responses and backend systems.
Deep understanding of input field validation logic including character restrictions, field constraints, and uniqueness checks.
Additional Skills:
Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
Experience in Agile/Scrum environments with fast-paced release cycles.
